Entero working closely with public data vendors to provide clients with a smooth and efficient process to migrate current UWIs to the new format.
CALGARY, Alberta, February 6, 2011 – Entero Corporation is responding to the Saskatchewan government’s recent announcement regarding UWI format changes by providing our clients with an efficient process to migrate the current UWIs housed in Mosaic to the new format.
Effective April 1, 2012, the Saskatchewan government will be changing their UWI format to match the standard used by Alberta and British Columbia for DLS wells. This conversion will likely impact any oil and gas company with wells in Saskatchewan by changing the actual UWI that identifies certain wells. In order to keep the data in Mosaic (and other corporate systems like Accounting, Field Data Capture, Land, etc.) synchronized with this change, companies will need to plan how and when the changes will be made in order to synchronize with the government regulator.
Public Data vendors will be providing cross-reference tables to ensure consistency and accuracy for this migration. These vendors will change the UWIs they provide to match the new IDs that come from Saskatchewan for affected wells. Entero is working closely with all data vendors to ensure that the changeover will occur smoothly. Contact your data vendor for more information on their specific process.
In addition, the Mosaic team will provide our clients with queries that will perform the UWI migration and a process that will help audit the changes to ensure accuracy. We will be releasing the details of our solution in the next couple of weeks and will notify our users.
If you have any questions regarding how this change will affect your data in Mosaic, please send an email to mosaic-support@entero.com or call our help desk at 403-261-1820.

For more information on these changes, visit http://www.er.gov.sk.ca/. Industry is asked to download the converted well and facility data files and cross-reference the information against your own operational data to ensure accuracy and communicate any issues to RSIPDATA@gov.sk.ca.
If you have already cross-referenced your data against the data provided in August 2011, changes in data have been noted, but are minimal. For example, there are 14 occurrences where the current UWI assignment for a well is different from the one that was previously posted. (Cited from Government of Saskatchewan website)
